Welcome to the AIDS Service Association of Pinellas (ASAP)
Greetings and welcome to our website! ASAP is pleased to introduce you to this newly refurbished site which is filled with many resources and bits of information that will help you navigate the world of HIV services. Whether you are HIV+ or not, this site is for you. Many of our services are designed to meet the needs of those who are "affected" by HIV/AIDS in our community. Perhaps you want to be tested, or talk to someone about high risk behaviors, or receive education about HIV prevention or just want to volunteer some of your time – there's a place, a service, a listening ear here at ASAP just for you.
If you are HIV+ and trying to navigate the "system", there are details here that can help you be prepared to access the services you need. You'll find information about eligibility – and everything you need for an appointment with a specialist. You'll find descriptions of our services and telephone numbers to help you contact a "real person" to help you link to the program that's just for you. You'll find a resource list on here that will help guide you towards many of the social services and community programs that may meet your needs.
All of this is for one reason – to help you "close the gap" between you and the services you need to maintain and/or improve your health and – hopefully – flourish. ASAP is proud and thankful to have partnered with The Florida Department of Health - Office of Minority Health to bring these resources to you. Of course, everything is not here but it's a way to get started and that's most important. You OWN your health – take the steps needed to manage your HIV or your behaviors or whatever it is that will make you happier, healthier, more in charge and personally fulfilled. Call us – we're here for you.
